Taylor Swift has gone from country to pop, and now she’s reportedly considering another move…to HIP-HOP. Sort of. Britain’s “Sun” tabloid claims Taylor hit the studio with Drake, and is “exploring a new urban sound.”
Supposedly, Drake is producing a few tracks for her that will have an “edgier” hip-hop and R&B vibe. He’s also doing some vocals for the album.
A so-called “source” says, “The remix of her song ‘Bad Blood’ had a less pop vibe, especially with Kendrick Lamar featured on it, and it was a big hit, so she thinks her fans will like her going in this direction.”
There’s no official word from Taylor, but it wouldn’t be a shock if she did this…although not everyone thinks it’s smart. Stereogum.com has an article called ‘Please, God, Do Not Let Taylor Swift Record a Hip-Hop / R&B Album,” and the writer says, “This is [an effing] horrible idea. Like, it’s the worst idea.”
Taylor has earned the benefit of the doubt, so let’s wait and see where this goes. Plus, this could be the perfect way for her to unleash a hot Kanye West diss track.
